Novel Playlist- Alisa reed

Dear Marisa,           

I thought I would send you this playlist to get you through the first couple weeks of college. They are all types of genre of music so I hope you like them! 

The first song I chose for you to listen to is "Crush" by Missy Mulatto because It could remind you to when you first liked Alan and he didn’t know. Quote: “ His hand is so close to mine when he gives the notes. Brenda would just tell me to grow so balls and touch his hand and show so interest”(page 11)  

           The Second song I chose for you to listen to is "Love don’t change" by Jeremih and I chose this because towards the end of the book you and Alan broke up and got back together as if nothing ever happened an none of your feelings ever changed about him and none of his feelings changed about her. The passage reads, "Maybe its just being close to him, I can feel something I haven't felt in a long time creeping back into me"(201).

Another song I would want you to listen to would be is "Parent just don’t understand" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince because of the fact your dad doesn’t let you ever do what you want because you always have a lot to do at home and he also wont let you go to college for what you want to go to college for, in the book it says "Every time, its less that you give us. What used to be $150 turned into $100 last time and now just $80. You have a responsibility, mija"(120).                    

The last song I have for you is "Dreaming With a Broken Heart"  by john Mayer. I chose this song because it shows how you felt after Pedro wouldn’t get off of you when you asked him and you didn’t want to do anything with him.The passage says "Hey, hang on."I say trying to slip out of his arms. "Shhh, your just nervous." Pedro's hands are on my thighs, and he presses his face towards mine. I twist away"(141).
